The short version: DJ Golf has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and your location never leaves your phone. The app talks to our server for two things only: checking for service announcements when it opens, and — if you choose to contact support — sending your report and checking for our reply.
Location
DJ Golf uses your device’s location for one purpose: to measure how fast you are moving, so it can tell whether your cart is driving or stopped.
- DJ Golf asks for location only “while using the app”. It never asks for “Always” location access.
- Each reading is used in the moment and discarded. It is never written to storage, never logged, and never transmitted anywhere — not even in a support report.
- While a round is active, readings continue with the screen off, and your phone shows that this is happening the whole time: on Android as a notification, on iPhone as the blue location indicator.
Your settings
Preferences such as speed units, sensitivity and delays are stored on your own device and nowhere else. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Your music
DJ Golf never plays audio itself. It pauses, resumes or changes the volume of whatever app is already playing. It can tell that something is playing, but not what it is.
Service announcements
When the app opens, it asks dj.golf whether there are any short announcements to show — for example, news about an update. The request contains nothing about you: no account, no device identifier and no location. Which announcements you have already seen is remembered on your phone, not on our server.
Support reports
If you contact support from inside the app, your message travels with a diagnostic report: the app and operating-system version, your language setting, your DJ Golf settings, whether location access is allowed, your current speed, and what the app last did. It never includes where you are. The full report is shown on screen before you send it, and nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
- An email address is optional, and used only to reply to you.
- Your report and our conversation are stored with Cloudflare so we can reply to you inside the app, and delivered to our inbox through Amazon SES. They are not shared with anyone else.
- We keep them so we can follow up on the problem. If you would like yours deleted, ask us through the contact form and we will remove it.
After you send a report, the app checks for our reply about every 15 minutes, for up to 30 days. These checks carry no account, no device identifier and no location: the only thing the app presents is the random ticket number of the report you sent. If a reply arrives, the notification is created on your phone itself — DJ Golf uses no push-notification service. On iPhone, the app asks for permission to show notifications only once you have sent a report. On Android it also asks when you start a round, because Android needs that permission to show the notification that a round is running.
This website’s contact form
If you write to us through the contact form on this site, we receive your name, email address and message by email, and use them only to answer you. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are a person rather than a bot; Cloudflare’s own privacy policy covers that check.
Your IP address
Like any website, our server sees the IP address of the device contacting it. We use it to stop abuse: it is held for up to an hour to limit how many requests one address can make, and it is recorded alongside a support report or contact-form message so we can deal with spam. We do not use it to locate you or combine it with anything else.
No analytics, no advertising
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no push-notification service and no third‑party tracking of any kind.
Children
DJ Golf is not directed at children. The app never asks anyone for personal information; the only personal details we could ever receive are ones someone chooses to type into a support report or the contact form.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
